Independent institutions, such as the German consumer association Stiftung Warentest and the Red Dot Design Award, employ continual testing and customer surveys and confirm that Liebherr's premium quality appliances meet the highest standards in terms of quality, design and innovation.

Award winning: Top marks every time

Stiftung Warentest (StiWa) is an independent, German consumer-protection organisation that tests and compares goods and services from different suppliers. It is largely financed through the sale of its publications, especially its magazines test and Finanztest, and prevents itself from coming under financial influence by not selling advertising space.

With more than 130 industry-neutral jury members from 32 countries, 32 professional partners, and an invested marketing volume of over 25 million euros, the Plus X Award is currently the world’s top innovation award for the technology, sport and lifestyle sectors. Seals of approval are awarded to products with a least one ‘Plus X factor’. The Plus X Award seals of approval are awarded in seven different categories: innovation, high quality, design, ease-of-use, functionality, ergonomics and ecology.

The Red Dot Design Award is an internationally recognised competition, and its awards are highly regarded in specialist circles as seals of approval for good design. With more than 12,000 entries from over 60 countries, the Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s biggest design-focused awards. The competition is divided into three areas, which are staged and adjudicated separately: product design, communication design and design concept.

The iF Product Design Award is a multifaceted competition that encompasses all areas of product design. It offers design-related innovations a platform on which to become established, and it aptly takes account of the globalisation and dynamism of today’s world. The iF Product Design Award has been regarded as the hallmark of good design since 1953.

The Interior Innovation Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the interior design sector. It was initiated in 2002 by the imm cologne, which also acts as the competition’s conceptual sponsor. The Interior Innovation Award is organised by the German Design Council and commemorates outstanding innovations in all the sector's product areas. In launching the competition, the imm cologne and the German Design Council have created an effective tool for establishing corporate positioning and product differentiation within the interiors market.

KüchenInnovation des Jahres®” (“Kitchen Innovation of the Year”) is an annually-presented consumer award, which aims to identify the most consumer-oriented products and thereby offer consumers concrete help as they make purchasing decisions. Both experts and consumers vote on the entries so that the products can be evaluated objectively and independently, in their entirety. This two-tier process is what makes the “KüchenInnovation des Jahres®” consumer award so unique.

The international Good Design Award is the world’s oldest and most prestigious product and graphic design award, being presented annually by the Chicago Athenaeum (Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd) and the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies, since 1950. One of the key criteria for deciding whether a product receives an award is whether its design positively impacts society or people’s everyday lives.
