5° tilt angle
In developing our new supermarket chests, we have focussed on combining enticing product presentation with ergonomic operating comfort. The 5° tilt angle provides an optimum view of the stored products, and it also positions the products closer to the customers, ensuring that products are within convenient reach.
Integrated price tag holder
The price tag holders are positioned at optimal viewing-level for customers, and they can be directly matched to the relevant stored goods. They are harmoniously integrated into the housing concept and can be changed, quickly and easily, to show special offers etc.
Lighting concept
Long-life, energy-efficient LED lighting strips illuminate the supermarket chest freezer interiors. Unlike fluorescent tubes, LEDS generate very little heat and therefore considerably reduce energy consumption. Two LED lighting strips are integrated at the front and back of the interior to enhance merchandise presentation, and this optimal illumination prevents any shadowing. LED lighting is particularly effective for displaying fresh meat produce, which always appears its natural colour.

Maximum energy efficiency
The energy consumption of the latest chest freezers has been significantly reduced by the use of advanced electronics and highly efficient refrigeration components and, of course, appliance economy is a crucial consideration in the commercial sector. Instead of an electrical heating system for defrosting, hot-gas quickly defrosts the appliance from bottom to top.
The key advantage: excellent appliance reliability as ice does not build up in the drain area and block the outlet. This automatic defrosting process occurs twice a week, but can also be manually controlled. Environmentally friendly, HFC-free R290 is used as the coolant.
Sliding glass lids
The sliding glass lids are made from robust tempered safety glass and have excellent gliding properties, making them almost effortless to open. The lids close tightly to prevent heat loss and to prevent the ingress of moisture, thereby enhancing the chest freezers’ energy efficiency and reducing ice build-up. An integrated hot-gas frame heater prevents condensation forming so that there is always an optimal, uninterrupted view of the goods.

Benefits of the electronic features
Full touch-function of glass display
Easy-to-operate touchscreen electronics on Liebherr's supermarket chest freezers are ergonomically integrated into the rear of the frame, providing an outstandingly clear view of the temperature display. To protect the food from any unauthorised changes to the set parameters, the functions for accurately setting the temperature are only displayed if they have been unlocked via RFID chip by staff with authorised access. The display is also used to control the defrost function, and to switch the interior lighting on/off.
Demand-controlled compressor
An electronic, demand-controlled compressor ensures maximum energy efficiency in the new supermarket chest freezers, making them more environmentally friendly and reducing operating costs. The compressor quickly and optimally adapts to the actual refrigeration requirements in the appliance interior. Two air temperature sensors determine the cooling requirements and control the compressor.
SelfDiagnostic
Advanced precision electronics make the Liebherr supermarket chest freezers exceptionally convenient-to-use and very easy to maintain. The temperature within the chest can be continuously remote-monitored via an interface and, in the event of a fault, rapid diagnostics, fault analysis and resolution can take place. The early fault detection system emits an automatic alarm and ensures that failures are quickly identified and rectified, avoiding breaks in the cooling chain and preventing financial losses.
SmartGrid-ready cold storage
In the future, intelligent electricity grids (SmartGrids) will help to reduce power costs; Liebherr supermarket chest freezers are already prepared for this eventuality and are ‘SmartGrid-ready’. Essentially, if surplus energy is available during the day, e.g. via renewable energy sources, appliances will be supplied with the lower cost electricity. When the electricity price is lower, cold reserves can be built up, i.e. the chest freezer will cool to a lower temperature than required, creating a cold buffer that can then be mined when the price of electricity rises again.

The rounded corners in the interior of Liebherr supermarket chest freezers have been carefully designed with large radii, and the well though out interior concept minimises the number of joints. All chest freezer mesh dividers can be simply removed and their surfaces are easy-to-clean. Compliance with statutory hygiene regulations is ensured through the precision electronics which guarantee exact temperatures within the chest freezers.
Easy floor cleaning
Liebherr supermarket chest freezers are characterised by their tapered shape. A linear base strip was intentionally created to make it quick and easy to clean the floor. The seamless design prevents the infiltration of dust and water and thus avoids laborious cleaning activities.

Modern chest freezer design
Liebherr supermarket chest freezers are characterised by great dimensional stability, robust construction and modern design. The brand new 3D PU-spray moulding manufacturing process helps to make the plastic housing highly elastic and durable, and extremely impact and jolt resistant. It is far more resilient than the traditional sheet steel housing.
Revolutionary product technology
As an innovative company, Liebherr is always breaking new ground. Currently, the new 3D PU-spray moulding manufacturing process used for supermarket chest freezers is giving rise to new opportunities and setting new standards – not least with regard to design. This two-component, high-pressure spray process uses polyurethane, which facilitates the manufacture of large components with complex geometries. The key advantage is that this material is light yet extremely stable. It makes the chest freezers more robust, enabling them to keep their pristine visual appearance for far longer, even in a harsh environment like a supermarket.
Unsightly dents caused by shopping trolleys knocking into the chest freezers are no longer an issue, as we do not use sheet steel at all for our chest freezers. The 3D PU-spray moulding process allows for a variety of surface finishes too, which means that Liebherr can fulfil customer-specific design requirements more effectively.

The new Liebherr supermarket chest freezers impress with innovative ideas for professional requirements: the spacious appliances can be used to optimally present frozen products in a clear manner with good visual impact. It is furthermore ensured that, whether as individual appliances or variably combined, the chest freezers can always be optimally tailored to customer requirements.
As an individual appliance, the back of the chest freezer must be positioned against a wall.
When positioned in a row, the backs of the appliances must be against a wall.
The chest freezers can be installed, one behind the other other, as a block of four appliances with their backs facing each other.
When combined as a refrigeration/freezer island, the appliances can be positioned in several different ways. For example, a chest freezer can be placed at right angles across each of the ends as an ‘end piece’.
