News | 05/09/2017 Stiftung Warentest: Liebherr comes out on top as test winner

"Small fridges with big impact" – is the upshot of this year's test. The results from the consumer watchdog Stiftung Warentest have been an important purchase criterion for over 50 years. 36 devices were tested, including 20 integrated models and 16 free-standing devices. The key assessment criteria were power consumption, handling, cooling, temperature stability during storage, as well as the noise level and vibrations.

In the category for large standalone units, the BioFresh KBies 4350 fridge managed to convince the jury and received a "very good", thus joining the elite with a rating of 1.2. The positioning and storage of food are assessed as very comfortable. The lighting in the BluPerformance fridge is also impressive. The homogeneous and high-quality light concept ensures optimal lighting.

A clear winner in the category for 102 centimetre devices is the IK 1910 integrated fridge. With a rating of 1.6 (very good), it is one of the test winners in its class. The cooling power received a particularly positive rating. This means that the freshly bought food is cooled in the Liebherr fridge very quickly, without warming the food already stored in the fridge, thus avoiding spoiling.

In the category for table-height refrigerators, the first choice of "test" is the Liebherr TP 1760, which makes a big impact among the "smaller" equipment. With a rating of 1.6 (very good), the standalone fridge takes the lead in small free-standing devices. Here the customers benefit primarily from the A+++ energy rating and the associated low electricity costs.
