How To Store and Enjoy Fine Wines

From when the first young vine shoots appear, right through to bottling, vintners employ great expertise, devotion and diligence to ensure only the very best drops fill their bottles. White wines are aged in barrels or special tanks for several months before they are ready for bottling. Red wines, on the other hand, can often take several years to age, and even then many will still not have developed their full flavor. When kept under optimum storage conditions, wines can age optimally and further improve in the bottle.

Consistently Cool. A Dream Climate For Your Wine

Whether it's winter or summer, wine needs a consistent temperature. Your precious bottles must be protected from UV light and all kinds of fragrances and odors. Even dry air and vibration can impair the quality of the wine. In Liebherr wine cabinets, fine wines are safe in the ideal storage conditions – guaranteeing pure enjoyment when you're ready to open the bottle.

Even dry air and vibrations impair the quality of sensitive wine. In our Liebherr wine cabinets, high-quality wine finds ideal storage conditions for maximum enjoyment.

Liebherr wine cabinets have a built-in FreshAir activated charcoal filter, which ensures optimum air quality and prevents odours from the ambient air from entering the interior and impairing the taste of the wine. By the way: the Vinidor floor-standing and built-in units have an activated carbon filter in every wine safe. In the UWT and WT series appliances, a FreshAir activated charcoal filter in the intermediate web filters both areas.

In addition, the right humidity plays a decisive role in the long-term storage of wine. The reason: if this is below 50 percent, natural cork shrinks. The result: oxygen penetrates the bottle and allows the alcohol to evaporate. In addition, wines become sweeter as a result until they finally spoil.
