Long lasting freshness with HydroSafe and DrySafe
Food stays fresher longer when stored just slightly above freezing point. The BioFresh drawers are precisely regulated to a temperature slightly above 32°F (0°C), far below conventional refrigerator compartment temperatures. A low temperature alone is not enough to preserve freshness: Fruit and vegetables require a humid climate to remain crisp, while dairy products, fish and meat are optimally stored in dry conditions. The humidity level within the BioFresh drawers can be regulated using a slider to create either HydroSafe or DrySafe conditions. The drawers act as freshness safes, and can be adjusted to personal needs. BioFresh transforms refrigerators into versatile storage spaces in which the widest range of foods can be stored in optimum conditions.
Several climate zones in one appliance
If the BioFresh-Safe is set to HydroSafe, the humidity level is raised. This keeps unpackaged fruit and vegetables fresh and crisp for longer. Precision electronic controls ensure that a temperature of just above 32°F (0°C) is accurately and continuously maintained. Even at a high humidity level, your food will not accidentally freeze.
With the slider open, the humidity level is lowered and the BioFresh-Safe becomes a DrySafe. Lower humidity is ideal for storing meat, fish and dairy products. When stored packaged in these comparatively dry conditions, meat and dairy products will retain their flavor for far longer than in a conventional refrigerator compartment. Some cheese varieties can be stored for up to 100 days.*
