Two hinged doors open up as “French doors”, revealing a large storage space ideal for families. Offering more space than conventional models, but with a smaller door projection, the Frenchdoor fridge-freezer is ideal for those who need more space. The freezer section is made up of two large pull-out drawers with plenty of space, so you can see everything inside easily.
The main difference between the Frenchdoor and side-by-side models is the arrangement of the fridge and freezer. In the side-by-side unit, the refrigerator and freezer are arranged side by side. French door appliances on the other hand, are structured like combinations, with the refrigerator compartment located above the freezer compartment. This is more ergonomic as the fridge is used more often than the freezer.
Another key benefit of the Frenchdoor model is the fixed door assembly, meaning you can fix matching cabinet doors to the appliance, seamlessly integrating it into the design of your kitchen. The cooling technology is ventilated via the skirting board, meaning no ventilation ducts have to be fitted to the kitchen cupboards above. Ventilation in built-in devices is essential and prevents air jams, which could damage the compressor and lead to increased energy consumption.
